The judging system for dance competitions, from vote to official report
At a dance competition the tensest moment is not the dancing: it is when the judges' sheets have to be collected, copied out and added up while the room waits. Here judges vote from their phones, each vote reaches the server the moment it is confirmed, and results are calculated with the rules written out in full. The chairperson runs the rounds, and at the end there is a report showing how every placing was reached.
Judges vote from their phones
The judge's station is a web page: it opens in the browser of a phone or tablet, with the judge's own account.
Nothing to install
Judges get an invitation by email, sign in with their account and find the competitions assigned to them, ready to judge.
Every vote checked
The server checks that the voter is a judge of that competition, that voting is open and that the couple or group is on the floor. A sheet out of place does not get in.
Editable while voting is open
Until voting closes, judges can review their sheet; after that, it stays as it is.
On-floor attendance
The chairperson marks judges and competitors present, and judges can confirm their own attendance.
Two scoring systems, written out in full
The rules are applied as the regulations describe them, and every step leaves a record.
Skating System
Callbacks in the preliminary rounds and placings in the final, with the majority rules; for multi-dance events, rules 9, 10 and 11 as well.
Criteria-based scores
Marks from 1 to 10, to one decimal, on criteria you name — technique, interpretation, musicality or others — added up or ranked with the Skating System.
Ties without shortcuts
When a cut or a tie cannot be settled from the marks, the system stops and the chairperson decides: no hidden draws.
Judges drawn by lot
From the judges present, as many as each round needs are drawn in a balanced rotation, and the draw goes into the report.
Running the competition, round by round
The chairperson sees the state of every event and every round, and decisions stay on record.
Heats and rounds
Preliminaries, semi-finals and final, with evenly sized heats the platform prepares for you.
Callbacks decide who goes through
Once voting closes, progression to the next round is calculated from the judges' callbacks, not copied by hand.
Closures on record
Voting closes when the chairperson decides. If it is closed with sheets missing, the record shows who did it, when, and how many were missing.
Report and results
The PDF report carries the marks by judge letter, notes on cuts and ties, and the chairperson's signature; results are also exported to Excel.
